Dr. Scott Levine, Chiropractor
Born and raised in Toronto, I have been practicing Chiropractic since 1996 at Vita.
I first decided to pursue a career as a Chiropractor when I herniated two discs in my lower back while studying Pre-Medicine. After six long months of physiotherapy that was unable to provide sufficient results, I decided to see a Chiropractor and almost immediately was astounded by the philosophy and the hands on approach. It was then that I realized what my true calling was.
I have since taken over 150 courses, developed my own system to scan the body, created industry used software to deliver video exercises (myRxX.com), and continue to reach out to the community with a message of health. The key to my enthusiasm is purely the fact that I enjoy taking part in people's health. I have seen miracles in my office every day. People who have suffered for years from headaches, pain or even depression have had remarkable improvements. I am happy every day I get to be at Vita, and my patients are too. What is most amazing is instead of being surrounded by patients who are sick and suffering, I’m surrounded by people who are taking part in their healing and are ready for a real change in their health that does not include drugs. As I like to say, “Health: now available without a prescription”.
My new focus is Brain Based Chiropractic. Two years ago I took a one-year program to specialize in the treatment of ADD/ADHD for both children and adults. The entire program is focused on assessing the brain for a deficiency and then using chiropractic, nutrition and exercises to create balance in the brain. The results have helped give back a life for the child and parents using a natural means and providing hands on approach to this dysfunction. As I say to the child, “ADHD is a gift that is just difficult to unwrap”.While chiropractic in general is helpful in these cases, my expertise and level of specific neurologically-based care allows us to get the highest level of results, while maintaining incredible safety and satisfaction.
This breakthrough assessment has helped me understand other brain based disorders like anxiety, depression, posture, and even pain. By focusing on the brain, we are able to help people achieve healing they never thought possible. Most recently I was honored by an elite coaching company as their International Chiropractor of the Year, 2013-2014.
I am certified in pre-natal and infant care including the Webster technique. My greatest pleasure is caring for whole families starting from birth, to boomers and beyond (my oldest patient to have their first adjustment is 93). I am currently blessed to have an extremely friendly office that provides care to the entire family. I make it a priority to always put education and inspiration first.
My own personal health is always a top priority, and I am certain to get my weekly chiropractic adjustment. I also do all that I can to keep my body and spine in optimum shape by keeping my fitness and nutrition at high levels. I personally have everything I need to achieve and maintain proper health without the use of drugs. I am a firm believer in “role modeling” for my patients, and my own children, and would never expect a patient to do something I am not. My weekends are enjoyed with my wife, Naomi, and twin 4 year old girls, Sage and Samantha. My children have been adjusted since birth, and have never had any medications. Even though they are only four, if they feel they are getting a cold they will come to me and ask for an “ajusment”. They are amazing examples of how the body can rapidly heal by itself.
As a chiropractor...
I honour the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy.
I desire to help the newborn, the aged, and those without hope.
I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease.
I wish to assist rather than intrude; to free rather than control.
I seek to correct the cause, not its effect.
I have been called to serve others.
I want to make a difference.
I get to witness miracles every day.
I know it is right.
Love and light,
Dr. Scott Levine, DC
Gabriela Ilie shares her storey
I first came to know Dr. Scott Levine and Brain Based Chiropractic care through my husband who suffered multiple mild to severe concussions when he was a young hockey player, and still deals with their aftermath, and my daughter, who suffered a concussion recently. As a brain injury researcher, I was impressed right from the start with Dr. Levine’s depth and breadth of scientific research knowledge and understanding, and his round approach to care (chiropractic care, brain care, auditory and sensory integration). At a time when concussion management and care needs are on the rise, to come across someone like Dr. Levine has been hopeful say the least. He understands the need for chiropractic care from the micro (individual), and macro levels (school or work environment) to the societal level where culture and society practices interact and influence health and behavior. What touched me deeply is his genuine care and effort to heal his community lead better, healthier, happier lives. His enthusiasm for health and hard work are contagious! He helped my family and myself heal, change our life style and participate in understanding how we can maintain healing through our everyday behavior and lifestyle habits. I am grateful for the healing and hope for future possible research collaborations with Dr. Levine and his Team.

S Smith shares her story regarding her baby boy
From the first day of my son's life he was always spitting up. At first I was told that this was normal for new babies but as the weeks progressed it became worse and worse and my baby became more and more distressed. It got to a point where he was crying every time he would spit up, every time he would lay down, and every time he would breastfeed. I took him to his paediatrician and he was put on medication for acid reflux. Not wanting my newborn to be medicated so early in life I sought out alternative treatments. I saw Dr. Levine to have my son and myself assessed. He first did a treatment on myself because I need to be in alignment first in order for him to accurately asses my son. The baby was then placed face up on my chest and assessed while I held him. His treatments were all done on my chest and were very gentle. Going into this I wasn’t sure if I really believed in chiropractic care for babies but when I saw my baby yawn and relax with each release I was more convinced in the process. After the first treatment my son slept very well and was very relaxed. Up until this point I had been supplementing with formula and struggling to keep up my milk supply. Results were more noticeable after the second treatment that same week. I realized I hadn’t needed to top him up with any formula since I had my first adjustment. The baby has since been spitting up significantly less amounts and isn’t in pain when it happens. He sleeps much more restful and doesn’t strain as much for bowel movements. He has less intense crying episodes in the evenings as well during his “witching hour” before bed. I have put all the bottles and formula away as my milk supply and flow has improved substantially. I highly recommend chiropractic care to any new mom and baby. Vita has been great to us. The ladies at the front desk are always so helpful when I come in with the kids and are eager to hold the baby if needed while I am treated. I never fully believed until now how much alignment can affect your health outside of back and neck concerns. S Smith, mother
Brian W shares his story about Changing Degeneration
Dr. Scott Levine with his comprehensive treatments and products has taken my Stage III degenerated neck vertebrae to a level of correction and pain free living I thought was impossible. Frequent stiff, chronic neck pain from an old broken collar bone hockey injury, was starting to lead, by chain reaction, to really debilitating lower and mid back muscle spasms, and sciatic nerve distress in my right leg. “Not on my watch” said Dr. Levine. He was right. Dr. Scott is a leading edge innovator and with his brain neuroscience synergy you know you are receiving the most advanced integrative health care available anywhere.

“The team at Vita Health Clinic started with a comprehensive examination of my mind & body - from the brain down - to create a meaningful treatment plan for my overall health. They did not just focus on the symptoms of the pain I was feeling. By focusing on what was happening with my brain health, they quickly remediated the source of my nerve pain and strengthened my body so it would not return. This innovative approach is where I see all health care needing to go.”

During the past year and a half since Dr. Scott provided Brain Based Chiropractic (BBC) to me and my family, I have come to know him well. His technique (BBC) is a safe, gentle, hands-on series of chiropractic adjustments, auditory and olfactory stimulation, eye and body movement exercises to help restore proper brain function. I know that when our brain functions correctly and the brain communication loop between the cerebellum to various parts of the brain stem (pons, medulla, mesencephalon) functions at its best, my physical vitality, mental clarity and emotional stability are at their best! Scott makes sure this brain loop stays finely tuned. As a lead TBI researcher with St. Michaels and CAMH, I have come to recommend Dr. Scott to anyone who has had a concussion, including my husband and my daughter who have both had head injuries. This may not be a method of health for everyone, but for us it is the best. I hope you give it a try and see where it takes you!"

"I suffered a concussion in early September that led to incredible vertigo, vomiting and heightened sensitivity to light and sound. I was in bed and unable to work for almost a month. I started brain care with the Vita team only 4 weeks ago and immediately felt relief after the first treatment. Just eight treatments later I am getting back to my normal life. I can work, play music and have even flown with no symptoms. I recently saw a neurologist who was impressed with how rapidly I had improved, stating that most concussions take 6 months to resolve and I should keep doing whatever I’m doing. Thank you so much to Dr. Scott and his team. They are true HEALERS."
I am writing this as a mother of a child who initially suffered a concussion through a snow mobile accident in 2010 and again after a friendly shove (in just the right motion) from a roommate that left Jordan with even more severe symptoms. Jordan was unable to learn, have a social life, noise and driving was all impossible. I was so desperate to find help for Jordan and our whole household was affected. We focused solely on getting Jordan back to where he was. The following spring 2015, Jordan was ready to take the twice weekly trips from Wasaga beach to Toronto. Car rides specifically triggered severe headaches due to bumps (pot holes), and any apologies for hitting a bump were not accepted very easily. The care Jordan has received with Dr. Levine has been immeasurable. Jordan experienced results almost immediately and was able to regain his life; he is the vibrant goal oriented boy I remember.
